Published August 27: five calendar dates lead to September 1. The center stays locked for everyone until then.
A countdown tied to a visible state
The center event is not a timer pasted over ordinary inventory. The middle 100×100 pixels are already marked on the live map and cannot be selected through the standard purchase flow. On September 1, that state changes under the center rules shown at the time. Until then, every visitor sees the same locked outline.
The dates are August 28, August 29, August 30, August 31, and September 1. Nothing is described as sold merely because the opening is close. The center is reserved for the event; the rest of the available grid remains normal standard land at $10 per 10×10 square.
Buy nearby or wait for the middle
People who want the literal center should wait, read the opening terms, and make a decision when it becomes available. People who care more about early location can select the ring around it now. A placement directly above, below, left, or right of the boundary will remain its neighbor after the outline fills with artwork.
Neither choice guarantees more traffic. The center matters because it is the common reference point of the map. Near-center land matters because adjacency cannot be recreated after somebody else buys it. That is geographic scarcity, not a claim that demand has already appeared.
What happens on September 1
The project will record the center opening in the diary with screenshots and verified results. If nobody buys immediately, the update should say that. If buyers participate, completed records should appear in the activity feed and Hall through the same payment-confirmed process as other placements.
Until then, the live map is the most reliable countdown. The dotted square stays in the middle, its opening date stays readable at high zoom, and standard selections stop at its border. You can wait for the event or place your name around it before the composition changes.
